43. The Race?!?!

Greetings readers!

You're probably wondering why I'm freaking out right now (hence the title), but I just signed up for my first 5K!! Me... a runner??! Pure shenanigans! The race is 7 weeks from this coming Saturday and I just started "running" on MONDAY! With the help of an app C25K Free, I've started the "Couch to 5K" process, which is technically 8 weeks, but I apparently have no choice but to be ready in 7 weeks.

C25K Free App
One of my best-friend's just lost her mother to a 20 year battle of breast cancer and the fact that all of Zen Lab's apps, like C25K Free, have proceeds go to The Breast Cancer Foundation makes me love running. I'm incredibly nervous to run the race, but once I put this one behind me, it's onto half marathon training, and another 5K race in November. My goal is to run a half marathon next year. We shall see! I should probably get through the next 7 weeks first ;)

Pinspirabler's Registration Proof

In case you didn't believe me, I swear I did register! :)

Have you ever used the C25K Free App before? Did you ever wake up one day and decided you were going to be a runner, too?

42. The Reveal: Barney Fannings- Beacon & Brewster

Greetings readers!

In the Boston area and looking for something to do tonight? Head on down to Barney Fannings at 99 Broad Street in Boston (near Fanueil Hall) for a Beacon & Brewster launch party! There's going to be appetizers, drinks, gifts and giveaways. I saw this reveal on The Boston Fashionista Blog.

The Boston Fashionista wearing Beacon & Brewster's polo

The lovely polo The Boston Fashionista is wearing is from Beacon & Brewster. The shirts come in a variety of different colors and 25% of the proceeds go directly to your favorite charity! Giving back and a new piece for your wardrobe, at the same time?! What's not to love?

Pinspirabler's Choice: Mint polo by Beacon & Brewster
I am loving this mint polo option from them. How cute is the little Lighthouse? Did I mention before that I'm in love and obsessed with all things nautical? Well if you didn't know, now you do!

Do you have a favorite company that gives back to charities? Any new companies you've seen that you'd like to share?

41. The SoWa Look

Greetings readers!

Yesterday, I told you all about my Bostonion adventures, especially to SoWa Market. Having never been before, I didn't know what to expect, especially when it came to attire. I was in black flowered sandals, long jeans (Terrible move since it was apparently 95 yesterday! Gah!), a white layered tank, a turquoise short-sleeved shirt, and my red cross-body bag I bought on my North Carolina trip. Apart from the cross-body bag, I did not look like I belonged at SoWa. Everyone and I mean e.v.e.r.y.o.n.e. besides my cousin and I were dressed in a Bohemian like look.

Today, I bring you an appropriate SoWa outfit:
The SoWa Boho Look - made by Pinspirable

Some gladiator sandals, a long flowy skirt, a cross-body bag, statement earrings, a statement shirt, a forehead headband, and a pretty nail polish to top it all off. I'm attempting to convince my mother to come experience this next weekend, so I'll be sure to post a Pinspirabler Does SoWa CORRECTLY entry.

What's your go to Bohemian piece?

40. The Bostonian Weekend

Greetings readers!

I've now lived around Boston for almost 6 weeks and this was my first weekend staying in the city. How sad is that?! With weddings, showers, vacations, holidays, etc., my weekends have been jam packed. Plus, adjusting to a new city where all of my friends predominantly live back home, it's been hard to force myself to stay in the area for the weekend; nevertheless, I had a blast this weekend!

This past November, my friend texted me saying to call her ASAP, so I did. She was beaming with excitement about how she just won us 2 tickets to see Thomas Rhett, Jake Owen, Miranda Lambert, and Jason Aldean at FENWAY! The concert was this past Friday night. We went to Who's On First? for drinks and to see a good friend of mine, grabbed some food on Yawkey Way, and then off to the concert! I have to admit Fenway isn't a great venue for concerts, but the atmosphere is just wonderful.

Saturday, it was supposed to be a day at the beach with friends, but the rain won that battle; therefore, movies and relaxation was on the docket for me. At night, I was supposed to go on a first date, but that fell through, so Chinese take-out and more movies was how I spent my Saturday night. My cousin texted me and said to be prepared for an uplifting Sunday and boy- was it!

Earlier this summer, my cousin found an article, How To Have A Great Summer in Boston, and we decided to cross a few things off of our list. First up, SoWa Market!

It's an outdoor market that occurs every Sunday between May and October, from 10-4, ranging from locally grown produce, to nearby jewelers, clothing retailers, food trucks, and The Fashion Truck! The Fashion Truck is a box truck - like that of a food truck - that travels around and sells clothes right out of it! It has hard wood flooring throughout, a beautiful sliding glass door, air conditioning, shelving units, and above all - so much beautiful clothing, jewelry, and accessories! I was captivated to say the least.

Pinspirable Spotted The Fashion Truck!
After shopping it was onto delicious food. They have a whole area set up of food trucks. My cousin and I stumbled into Paris to enjoy a strawberry Nutella crepe and a Nutella frozen hot chocolate. Delectable doesn't even begin to cover the deliciousness!

Thank you, Paris Creperie!
After SoWa, it was onto Castle Island and then Quincy to see "The OC." We walked around those two areas and then called it a day.

What a wonderful weekend!

And today, I'm wearing a black and white polka dot sheer top (also worn here), with some mint green capris, these killer earrings, and my new bow ring from The Fashion Truck! Not a bad way to start a Monday, right?

What did you do this weekend?

39. The You in Style

Greetings readers!

I know it's been awhile and I know I've been holding out on outfit posts, which is quite a shame since lately they've been some good ones. My problem is, unlike most bloggers, I am single so a built in cameraman isn't lying around my house. Problem number 2, I don't have a floor length mirror in my new abode yet; however, this is *hopefully* going to change soon!

Things have been a tad rough and overwhelming lately. In one weekend I went to a friends grandmother's wake, found out at the wake that my best-friend's (I'm her Maid of Honor) mother passed away, attended a graduation party, went out to lunch with a friend, went to a wedding, had a day to digest, attended the wake, attended the funeral, attended the mercy dinner, worked half a day, and then went on vacation for 4 days. Talk about a whirlwind, eh? While on vacation, I was in such a funk. Normally, being outside with friends and family and getting a tan would brighten my mood, but no matter what I was doing or where I was, I didn't seem like I was meant to be there. Such a terrible, terrible, terrible feeling!

Despite everything, I think I’m looking to fashion to pull me out of my slumber. Yesterday while waiting for my bus, I saw a man with a beer gut, a long ponytail, a fitted/slightly loose shirt (if that makes any sense at all), and in a floor-length Bohemian skirt! Not something you see every day, right?! Then, I remembered a photo I saw earlier on Pinterest and gave the man kudos after all!
Pinspirable: Style is You

What gets you out of your funk? How do you let fashion speak for yourself?
