50. The Things for Thursday

Greetings readers!

I think one of my favorite posts to you all lately is The Things for Thursday segment. Call me "Materialistic," I don't care! I love shopping, I love the thrill of it, I love all of the endorphins from it... sorry, but it makes me happy. Plus, I love the thrill of the hunt and finding wonderful things that intrigue me and all of you. Remember my crazy hunt for my bubble umbrella (here and here)?! Enough said.

The Things for Thursday

For those of you that don't know me very well, I HATE showering. Yes, you heard that right. Perhaps I just hate the readying process, but nevertheless, it's not one of my favorite things to do. Ask my roommates, they think I'm crazy. Let me make this clear though, I do shower on the daily and also after my workouts. Yes, I'm clean. :) ... end rant.

If I had this awesome Moss Bathmat, I feel like entering and exiting the shower, would be miraculous. It looks so soft and smooth. Perhaps a natural exfoliant? Now, I just need to track down where to actually purchase one! The Obsessed Woman Strikes Again, Part 2?

Being a "blogger" (or attempting to be- you pick!), you have to have a knack for writing, which I most certainly do. Catch phrases excite me to no end, so once I saw these signs originally via Pinterest, it just had to be included in this week's post!

As I've mentioned earlier in the week, I'm hoping and praying my *BIG* move comes true and if so, I'd love to have this in my laundry room. Is it sad that I often reward myself if all of my socks from a load of laundry come out matched? With the "Lost Socks" sign, maybe they'll one day join up with their mate. I've also seen this variation of a "Lost Socks" sign, which I absolutely love, too.

One of my favorite bloggers, Miss Robyn from Cleverly Yours, posted her Wednesday Wishlist items yesterday and I loved the coffee traveler that was included. I clicked the link and it's currently unavailable, but then it brought me to this fabulous "Break the Ice" cup.

One of my good friends from college is a fitness and nutritional guru, having lost around 50 lbs, and she recently started a Facebook fitness group. One of her recent posts asked how everyone ensures they get the right amount of daily water intake. With a glass like this, I'd be bound to get in my daily intake! Plus, it would be nice to switch it up from my Camelbak. Best part is, it's only $18 and it's Kate Spade!

A couple of weeks ago, I saw an infommerical for the Conair Curl Secret. I am an absolute DISASTER when it comes to curling my hair. The wand made me fry my hair - it was nice and crispy for days and falling out. A curling iron has burned my forehead a few times when I was in middle school adding to my already existent scar. Low and behold, I needed something easy to curl my hair, so I went out and bought this little baby. To say I'm obsessed with it, is the understatement of the year.

It is on the pricier side, coming in at $100; however, with a lovely 20% off Bed, Bath & Beyond coupon, I was able to score it for $85, including tax. You can also find it at Best Buy, according to their website.

I love comfy and just want to jump in this flannel shirt-hoodie combo right now! My best-friend "re-pinned" it on Wanelo the other day and I immediately added it to one of my boards. Unfortunately it's unavailable, but hopefully I'll find something similar to it one day.

These boots are a perfect combination of quilted riding boots and grungy-chic. Unfortunately everyone else had the same opinion on them as I do, so only available right now is the dark brown and tan versions. Coming in at $51.92, I can see why the black are all sold out.

One of my best-friends sent me a Snap Chat the other day of her wearing a pink and white Chevron infinity scarf. I've been hunting, and hunting, and hunting for the perfect Chevron infinity scarf and had yet to find one. I asked her where she got it and she said from Boneca Linda. I found this black and white version, emailed Boneca Linda asking if it was still available, which it wasn't, but she's making me one! I should have it within a couple of weeks. I can't wait to sport it, especially with temperatures like they've been. Ew.

The scarves are $25 and you can purchase them via her Etsy shop, or contact her via Facebook.

Lastly, how fun is the Writable Coffee Cup?! I saw it originally on Wanelo and it's only $13.95. I like the idea of being able to specify what is in my cup. :)

49. The Wednesday: What I Wore, A Workout & #WCW

Greetings readers,

Can I start off by saying HAPPY HUMP DAY?!?!?!? This week, like I mentioned yesterday, has been brutal, so the fact that the week is half-way over, is just amazing!

After last night's post, I realized I've hit a standstill with my workout. What do I say to that? Ain't nobody got time for that! (Meaning the standstill of course... not the "working out" part- ha ha ha!). So after I hit "Publish" on my post, I hurried off to my room and did some Les Mills Combat. I'm normally not a huge fan of workout videos because I'd rather be in a class surrounded by people motivating me, but lately I've been burned out with the elliptical. Also, I unfortunately have to wear wrist splints at night due to Carpal Tunnel and I left mine at my parents' house this weekend and the elliptical motion causes it to really flare up - hence the need for an at-home workout.

Click here to learn more or to purchase Les Mills Combat.

What I Wore

Down in NOLA, I found a wonderful boutique, purchased this dress, walked a few blocks, went into another store, and spent 2 hours talking with a sales rep and trying on roughly 60 items. Low and behold, they were sister stores, a.k.a. Langford Market. Do I know my own taste or what?!

This dress is great! It has the cute belt accent, puffy sleeves, and could be dressed up or down. I wore this dress on Christmas Eve, but paired it with some nude tights, did some fabulous curls to my hair, threw on some bright red lipstick, and covered my self in gold jewelry. There are endless opportunities to a dress like this!

A Workout

I know I already discussed Les Mills Combat and how last night I've decided to "commit" and do the "Super Warrior" 60-day fitness program (I'm sticking with my regular nutritional plan); however, for those of you that don't have Les Mills at home, you need a little something:

I found a success story on Pinterest from someone who had done Miss Conrad's Bikini Boot Camp and had lost 20 pounds. Why not give it a whirl, right? Once again, I'm sticking with my own nutrition plan, but I'm going to adopt the exercise plan, mixed along with my Les Mills Combat routine.

If you're looking for a routine to follow, I recommend Lauren's! She outlines everything, from how much water you should be drinking, to your caloric intake, and to your "double workouts." (The double workouts sounds a lot scarier than what it actually is!)

#WCW

This girl here:
*Found via my Instagram feed*
I just adore Jennifer Anniston. Through all of her trials and tribulations, she still manages to be energetic and above all, happy and fit! She's always been an actress I admire. For someone that gets (excuse the expression) the shit end of the stick, she always manages to pull through. To me, that's real strength

48. The Catch-Up: Style Me Silly, Saturday; Sunday Prep Day; Book Mark Me Monday; and, Tuesday Boozeday

Greetings readers!

What are the odds that last week I was ranting and raving about how much I follow routines and stick to them, yet this week I can't hold onto one to save my life?! The workout routine and my blog routine went out the window. Not that you want to hear any excuses, but there are reasons for the two. Regarding the workout routine, I did my favorite Fight 2 Fitness routine on Sunday and now my ribs are incredibly sore, which is awesome because I know I worked my abs well, but breathing has been tricky. The blog routine went by the way side due to work being so overwhelming that by the time I get home, getting to the couch seems like I just ran a full marathon. When you don't even have time to pee at work, you know you're busy. Gah...

Needless to say, I need the blog to release :)

Style Me Silly, Saturday / Belated What I Wore Wednesday

Pretty sure I cannot even explain to you how much I'm obsessed with these leggings!! I found them on Groupdealz a couple of weeks ago and just had to have them ;) I ended up getting them for $8.99, but they're normally $21.99. In the packaging, they sent me a coupon: $20 off your order of 50 or more PLUS free shipping. Enter code: NEWYEAR20. Let me tell you, these are equivalent to floating on a cloud. They're a silky, stretchy material and are simply heavenly.

Also, this top is a recent purchase from Zulily. I had a coupon, so I scored this soft baby for $8! It's baby soft and is absolutely wonderful.

Sunday Prep Day

I've been contemplating making a *BIG* move in my life, so when I saw this awesome "Quick Flight Carry On" must haves by Jenni from I Spy DIY, I just knew it would be the perfect Sunday tip! I'll keep you posted about the move ;)

Any who...  I always feel like I pack too much in my carry on, so thanks for the tips Jenni!

Book Mark Me Monday

One of my very good friends, and now a fellow reader, is a die-hard Hunger Games fan. I LOVE dystopian novels (I blame grad school on that one)! After finishing The Hunger Games trilogy, we both needed more and low and behold, I found this killer list:

The first series I want to discuss is Divergent. I could not get ENOUGH of these! I blew through these in a total of 2 weeks- yes, all 3 of them! They're enticing and the cliff hangers at the end make your eyes pop out of your head and instantly crave the next one.  I do have to admit though, I wasn't a fan of Allegiant, which is the 3rd book in the series. The build up of 2 was so high and I felt like a drug addict  trying to go sober reading Allegiant- I crashed. My drugs wore off. I finished it and felt incomplete. It didn't end the way I thought it would by any means. I thought I was the only fool that didn't like the 3rd, but after scoping out various discussion boards and random forms of Social Media, come to find out - it's the general consensus that no one liked the third. It's not as captivating as the other 2.

Still, do I recommend them? Absolutely.

Tuesday Boozeday

First off, why isn't it Friday yet?! Between the excitement of the hopefully *BIG* move and operating on warp speed at work, I need a drink now more than ever. Unfortunately, I don't have any form of alcohol or mixer in my apartment, but if I did, I would be indulging in a glass (... or two) of this:

I know, I know, I know berries really aren't "in season" right now, especially in the New England area, but how glorious does this look?! I think the Jingle Jangle Punch and I would pair quite well together right about now. The recipe does say it's best served in a punch bowl, so I may have to hold off on indulging in this until a gathering comes my way. Does this mean I need to plan a party for this weekend? A girl can dream

47. The Foodie Friday

Greetings readers,

First and foremost, HAPPY FRIDAY!! The countdown till 5:00pm today seems even more unbearable than normal, which is odd since it's not like I have any grand weekend plans. Maybe I am just craving a little R&R to the utmost? Plus, with having Monday off this week, I don't know why the 5:00pm struggle is even greater.

With being so engrossed in the wintry season, it makes sense to crave an over abundant amount of soup, right? Maybe I'm still in post-N'Orleans mode. My best-friend and I took a vacation to good ol' New Orleans in December and now I have the itch to go back. I blame all of the delicious cuisine on my longing to go back. We all know how much I love food, so going to a place like New Orleans is equivalent to heaven. Gumbo, jambalaya, grits and any other form of creole sounds fantastic to me!

Today's food post obviously is a soup:

Personally, I haven't made this soup, but after reading all of the reviews I'm dying to try this Weight Watchers Garden Vegetable soup. It looks so warm, comforting, and downright cozy. I'm sure you didn't know soups could be "cozy," but this one looks as though that could all be changed. Plus, it's only 1 point on the Weight Watchers Value scale- awesome?! Ya, I thought so, too.

Disclosure: Remember yesterday how I was saying I've been aching to buy the Aztec Cardigan for over a year and I just found a deal on Groupdealz about it?! Well, it arrived last night and to say I was less than displeased is the understatement of the year (ha-ha-pun intended). The arms were too small and I look downright frumpy. I guess being tall and having a long torso is finally at my disadvantage. :(

46. The Things for Thursday

Greetings readers,

Ahhh, Thursdays, the joy knowing that you only have to survive 1 more day to get to your weekend. I think it's appropriate that I decided to make Thursdays, "Things for Thursdays." Sometimes you need a little wishlist/ pick-me-up to cap off your week. As a reminder, we've now started a "routine" on the blog!

Things for Thursday aka What I'm Lusting After

1. Sneaker Wedges
You're probably thinking I'm crazy because if you know me, I've claimed I've hated this trend; however, this pair of wedges stole my heart. Maybe the fact that they are on sale for $25 at Beyond The Rack right now made me fall in love with them even more.
2. Aztec Cardigan
Last year when I was unemployed, my love for Aztec cardigans began. I've legitimately eyed this sweater now for over a year! Crazy, huh?! Last week, I found a deal on Groupdealz and mine is on the way. To purchase the one in my photo, go here.
3. The Jumpsuit
Another trend I've never been a fan of is "the jumpsuit;" however, this one looks so chic, unlike the frumpy ones I've normally seen. Did I mention this one is also on sale for $16.99?!
4. The Jacket
This jacket is to-die-for. Yes, the hyphens are necessary because of how fast I'm saying to-die-for (it really should be just one word). I love the mix of masculine and feminine. I saw it featured on one of the blogs I follow the other day, A Spoonful of Style. For $43 at Windsor, I'm not sure how long I can hold off without this beauty.
5. Black and white plaid sweater
I've become OBSESSED with sweaters lately - I blame it on living in New England. This sweater looks so comfy, cozy, and I just want to wrap myself up in it, throw on a pair of leggings, and sit in front of a fire reading a good book.
6. Workout Tee
The gym obsession has hit me hard. If only I could develop a love... umm a like (better) for running. If you like running, this is your shirt. I want to see if I can get a custom-made one to say "i like working out because..." and keep the same message. ;)
7. The Maxi Peek-a-boo Dress
I saw this dress on Wanelo and fell in love instantaneously and should've scooped it up last week when I had the chance, for now it's sold out. Perhaps Dainty Hooligan will put out more... a girl can only hope!
8. A Cruise
It probably seems silly that I want a sleeveless maxi dress right now, since we had a 5-8 inch snow storm 2 days ago, but if I want to plan a cruise, I need to dress the part! (Ha-no pun intended!)

Disclosure: I'm having technical difficulties capturing my "What I Wore," so hopefully I'll have it for you tomorrow! Stay tuned.

What are you lusting over this week? Or past year like me?

45. The Wednesday: What I Wore, A Workout & #WCW

Greetings readers!

I hope you're Wednesday was fabulous! As promised, here starts the "new" routine...

What I Wore

I know you're probably a little baffled, but today was a work from home day. Massachusetts just got hit with a huge snow storm, so mix that with a not-feeling-so-hot-didn't-get-enough-sleep mentality, you definitely need a work from home day, hence the sweats. Tomorrow, I'll post a more promising attire.

A Workout

My daily workout regimen consists of 45-60 minutes on the elliptical. Due to the "snow day," I decided to do an at home routine instead. This one took about 50 minutes, which isn't bad; however, I'm sore already. Normally on the elliptical, I don't get sore if at all until the next day or so. We shall see how long this pain lasts. The one good thing about workout pain is that means you know you worked hard!

#WCW

Just in case you don't know what the hashtag stands for #WCW means "Women Crush Wednesday." Today's WCW would be these two ladies:

These two ladies are able to be seen every Thursday night at 10:30pm EST on Bravo, "Toned Up." Karena and Katrina met in a gym and decided to start their own company called Tone It Up, which is a fitness and motivational site geared just towards women. Be sure to check them out!

Plus, I think one of the reasons I was drawn to the Tone It Up girls is that Katrina was a trainer at the gym I belong to: Boston Sports Clubs. What are the odds, eh?

What did you do on this fabulous Wednesday?

44. The Routine

Greetings readers!

I know it's been ages since I last posted. Having a full-time Monday-Friday 9-5 job really seems to suck the life out of you. I know, I know, I know, it's a series of excuses. The majority of bloggers that I follow also have the same mundane schedule as myself and if they have the time to post, why don't I?!

I am a victim of a routine-lover.  Routines are my life. I get up in the morning, throw on my gym clothes, walk to the bus, get to the gym, workout for an hour on the elliptical, get ready in the gym, go to work, catch my bus, come home, mull around for 30 minutes or so, eat dinner, do some more mulling/ reading/ relaxation, bed time, and then wake up the following day and do it all over again - 5 days a week that is.

If I look at blogging as a routine, maybe I'll stay motivated! So, we're trying something new here:

Here's the schedule explained in detail:
Sunday Prep Day: Every Sunday I feel like I'm prepping for my week: setting up the alarm, putting out clothes, grocery shopping, etc. Sundays posts are going to be geared towards prepping, organization, and just routine-like things, not just for work/school.
Book Mark Me Monday: I'm a book lover - through and through. One of my great friends recently got me into the love again and so Monday is going to be books I've read, or want to.
Tuesday Boozeday: We all know I'm a Pinterest fanatic, so Tuesday is going to be filled with really great drinks recipes, neat bars to go to in Boston, or Massachusetts, or anywhere!
Wednesday: What I Wore, A Workout & #WCW: An outfit post, a workout post, and my "Woman Crush Wednesday" aka WCW will be visible on Wednesdays. The women will be of those that inspire me, it could be a friend, a blogger, or even a celebrity - the world is my oyster!
Things for Thursday: Essentially, everything I am eyeing lately will be yours to see on Thursdays.
Foodie Friday: Once again, my Pinterest problem comes through again. I'll post on Friday, a recipe I've tried, or want to try. (Let's not kid ourselves, it will probably be one I want to try haha).
Style Me Silly, Saturday: Plain and simple, an outfit post. It's not going to be necessarily "silly," I just liked the idea of titling Saturdays post that. :)

Stay tuned for more... and today's post!
