36. The Very Delayed Posting

Greetings readers!

Hope you all are doing well and gearing up for summer. I've missed posting here, but the past 3 months (now almost 4) have been crazy. Working in Boston and commuting roughly 4 hours each day (2 hours each way due to the train and traffic), time is literally of the essence.

A 3-4 month recap may be needed then:
  • Started working for a publishing company in Boston
  • Moving to the Boston area this weekend (woohoo!! Pictures of the moving adventure/ new apartment to come soon).
  • Can't wait to finally join a gym in Boston once I move. It's my first thing I'm doing on Monday after moving in. There's a gym right next to my work that's normally $80/month, but we get a discount, making it only $30/month. This gym has exercise equipment, a sauna, classes, and a pool. After my 10lb weight gain since starting this position (due to lack of time to exercise and very little movement throughout the day), I'm anxious to get back into shape! New workout posts will obviously be inevitable. ;)
  • I took my first vacation in 7 years this past Memorial Day weekend to Raleigh, North Carolina. Totes want to move down there now!
  • Rekindled old friendships.
  • Realized life is too short to waste it on people who wouldn't waste it on you.
  • The bridal shower I hosted as Maid of Honor went off! Can't say without a hitch, but it went off nonetheless (will post photos on this, too).
  • Attended another friend's bridal shower and then spent 10 hours "celebrating" Cinco de Mayo.
  • Went on a few first dates - it's nice to be swooned and feel like a lady every now and then.
  • For concerts, I saw Brad Paisley (again), Chris Young, Gloriana, Kip Moore.
    • Upcoming concerts: This weekend Luke Bryan; 2 weeks Rascal Flatts; mid-July Jason Aldean (at Fenway!!! #BostonStrong)
  • Speaking of #BostonStrong, I love this city. Not a day goes by that I don't think of the Boston Marathon bombings. It was about 2 months after I started my job and my building is located on the street where the marathon occurs. We were told to work from home that day because my building is right in front of where the marathon ends. The building was blocked off for almost a week, so we took a round-about way to get into work every day. It was so eery being in Boston, a city that never stops, and watching absolutely everything around you silenced. The victims, their families, and all those affected will forever be in my heart.
My Boston shirt I purchased. Proceeds went to help the Victim unit at one of Boston's hospitals.
  • And in lieu of #BostonStrong, GO BRUINS!! It's a bloody miracle they've made it thus far, after their first round performance, but my boys proved in the last 10 minutes of that game, that the spirit of Boston should never be questioned. The Red Sox reminded us in 2004 to always "Keep the Faith." We are a "tough and resilient town." Time to show the Penns and Pittsburgh the true spirit of Boston once more!
I promise, now with the move and all, posting shall be more frequent.

Hope to repost sometime this weekend.
